News: Tom Morello stars in Guitar Hero III

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3

The game is based on how many times you beat the game. Every time you beat it, you get something new like a new character, tape, or both. You have 9 objectives for each level, 3 which are high score, pro score, sick score, and the rest are specific to the level which you are playing. There is career mode, this is were you get to unlock new things. Single session is just what is sounds like, a single skate session without the worries of having to complete a level objective. Free skate is for fun, with no worries of time, skate forever if you want. Multilayer has horse, free skate, slap, king of the hill, graffiti, and time attack. There is just so much to do, it will take a long time to get bored of this one.

THPS3 is the better 'hawk' for any system out there. The chracters, areas and boards are all beatufilly done. The most realistic/impressive level has to be L.A with the earthquake, lowrider cars, and high speed chases. The trees and bushes coud have used more work though as they don't look that realistic. The cars are some what to square to be a car. The roads are great with cracks and signs and grease stains. The sky which is visible some times is okay. In Tokyo the light affects are great. All around, the graphics are impressive, but the xbox can do better, let's hope the developers realize this for THPS4.

The menus are totally different from past THPS games. What's cool about his is that you are in a skate shop which adds to the realism. Create a player is far superior than past THPS games with plenty more options to create your dream skater. Another cool thing to do in THPS 3 is to create your very own skate park! Now how cool is that? This has also been beefed up from past THPS games.

The game has 15 levels, with some being secret. An army of secret skaters also await you, such as Darth Maul, Wolverine, A spooky character that you will find out on your own he is really cool, Private Carrera, Officer Dick (hehe), Ollie the magic bum, and Demoness. There are about 20 tapes to view, at about 5 minutes each, make THPS 3 even better! It's like buying a skateboarding DVD for another $20. The game also supports link capability meaning you can play online with GameSpy Tunnel and other online programs. So much in this game that is sure to keep you busy for weeks!

Report Card:
Gameplay = 10
Graphics = 9
Audio = 9
Replay Value = 10
Overall: 9.5/10
